Historic Devizes Town Hall and its Haunted Heritage

The majestic Devizes Town Hall, constructed in 1808, stands on the site of a former Yarn Hall dating back to 1575. The building’s oldest section is the lock-up—a dungeon beneath the Town Hall dating to approximately 1650. In this somber chamber, wrongdoers were held overnight before facing magistrates the following morning. Visitors will have exclusive access to this atmospheric underground space, along with the distinguished Council Chamber, elegant Assembly Hall, and historic Cheese Hall.

The Town Hall has earned a reputation for paranormal activity, most notably the apparition of a ghostly woman frequently sighted on the stairwell. Both staff and guests regularly report unsettling sensations in the lock-up area, including the distinct feeling of being observed by unseen eyes.

Description

Throughout the evening you will have the opportunity to participate in a host of experiments with complete access to our paranormal equipment. Our team can’t wait to welcome you to Devizes Town Hall to share a night of paranormal investigating together!

There will be free tea, coffee, water, cold drinks & snacks provided throughout the event, but feel free to bring your own. Please inform us of any allergies.

What you will need for this event:

Please ensure you are wearing flat, gripped footwear as the floor maybe uneven.
Warm clothing is recommended as this venue can get cold.
We will be investigating in the dark or low light, so please ensure you have a torch. Please note we request guests not to wear head torches to avoid accidents and prevent them from shining in other attendees eyes.
If you have any of your own paranormal equipment you are more than welcome to bring it to use on the investigation.

Cameras, filming & audio recording:

The use of cameras, filming and recording equipment is permitted on our events subject to limitations. Any still images, audio or video footage captured may not be used for the promotional purposes of any other project. Please notify us if you intend to record video or audio.

If you select the deposit option you will receive a PayPal invoice for the balance 3 weeks before the event.

Please note tickets are not transferable or refundable – unless the event is cancelled by E&E Paranormal.
