Step into one of Wantage’s most atmospheric buildings this Halloween. The King Alfred’s Head was built in the early 1700s and stands as a fine example of Georgian architecture — a two-storey building in yellow brick with red brick detailing, topped with a traditional tiled roof and brick chimneys. Inside, the ground floor still carries its original timber beams with chamfered, carved ends, a mark of the building’s 18th-century craftsmanship. Down in the cellar lies a tunnel, one of the areas we’ll be investigating on the night.

- if you choose the Deposit option, a PayPal invoice will be sent 3 weeks before the event, and payment must be made within 10 working days or your place will be released and your booking cancelled.
- For the safety of all guests and the smooth running of the investigation, E&E Paranormal and venue staff reserve the right to refuse entry to, or remove from, the ghost hunt any guest deemed to be intoxicated, regardless of what time this becomes apparent during the evening. No refund will be given in this circumstance
