Oxford Castle is a large Norman medieval fortress that played a key role in the English Civil War and once served as a temporary royal capital. Later used as a county prison until 1996, it is now known for reported paranormal activity, especially in its 900-year-old crypt and former cells, where apparitions, slamming doors, footsteps, and unexplained touches have been experienced.
