Ghost Hunt Tudor World – Friday The 13th Special!

Price range: £25.00 through £55.00

Join us for a paranormal investigation at Tudor World, also known as The Falstaff Experience, limited to just 12 people. This historic building has been standing as a cornerstone of Stratford’s historic landscape since 1196, Shrieve’s House and its award-winning barn offer a captivating window into the 16th century. The property’s recorded legacy begins with its first known tenant, William Shrieve, a prestigious archer to King Henry VIII. Given the house’s high status and Shrieve’s own name, historians believe he was a figure of significant local authority, likely serving as a Sheriff.

By the Elizabethan era, the building transitioned into a tavern operated by William Rogers, who is famously cited as the inspiration for Shakespeare’s comic character, Falstaff. This literary connection is grounded in historical fact; documented evidence shows that Shakespeare’s daughter, Suzannah, was a close friend to the Rogers family.

The house’s history is equally defined by its resilience through centuries of national turmoil. During the 17th century, it served as a makeshift hospital for soldiers wounded at the Battle of Edgehill, the first major conflict of the English Civil War. Today, it is as famous for its architectural mysteries—including hidden priest holes and secret chambers—as it is for the restless spirits that make it one of the town’s most celebrated haunted landmarks.
